Founded in 2011 by DePaul University School of Music alumnus Ryan Hobbs, Northside Brass is an award-winning brass quintet based in Chicago, recognized for its dynamic performances and dedication to music education. The group has performed in concert halls and presented masterclasses across the Midwest, including at Illinois Wesleyan University, Illinois State University, Carthage College, Rockford University, and the University of Chicago.

Known for their engaging and versatile repertoire, Northside Brass Quintet brings a vibrant energy to every performance, whether on the concert stage, at educational institutions, or in community outreach events. With a mission to inspire and educate the next generation of musicians, the quintet frequently collaborates with music programs to provide workshops and hands-on learning opportunities.

Their performances have delighted audiences with everything from classical masterpieces to contemporary works, showcasing the artistry and versatility of brass music. Northside Brass continues to expand its reach, bringing their passion for brass performance and education to communities across the region.

In October 2024, Northside Brass released their second album, Christmas Carols for Brass Vol. 2.  This album was a follow up to the 2019 release of their critically acclaimed album Christmas Carols for Brass, which was ranked #8 on WFMT Classical Radio Chicago's “Top 10 Christmas Albums of 2019.” Both albums, filled with timeless holiday favorites, are available on Apple Music, Spotify, and in hard copy.
